everyday chatter...

This year's Annual Christmas Walk and Tree Lighting in Lexington was brighter than most because the weather (although very cold) was a lovely snowy evening to compliment the village ambience.  A trolley gave rides through the village to see the Christmas decorations, and chestnuts were roasted right outside the store as tradition!  Most all businesses were open serving beverages and appetizers and shoppers stroll through looking for a few gift ideas!   WEEKENDS was also proud to sponsor the Salvation Army Band playing classic favorite holiday music!

Many people are surprised to learn there is much more to The Salvation Army than neighborhood thrift stores and red kettles at Christmas. In truth, the Army's programs cover virtually every aspect of human services.  And whether it means meeting spiritual or physical needs, each act of compassion changes lives, making our community an even better place to live and work.At every turn, The Salvation Army is there, supporting the less fortunate with a broad network of services and programs.  If you didn't get a chance to help out this year there is still time to donate visit this website for more information.
