Spring is in full bloom and gorgeous in Lexington right now! One only needs to take a walk in the downtown district or a drive along Lakeshore (particularly through the Lakeport State Park area) to see the excitement in nature blossoming. Endless possibilities are the gift that spring brings us and with that in mind, we hope you find Lexington as beautiful as we do this season!
Speaking of endless possibilities, it seems here at WEEKENDS we get deliveries almost daily with new and exciting products! A few this week that are both eco-friendly and artistic in the same. Loofah-Art scrubbers return with some new styles and Rachel Ray claims that "Loofah isn't just for showers. Loofah-Art Kitchen Scrubbers clean veggies, cookware and just about anything else— and they last for months."
A Cheerful Pet is the brainchild of mother and daughter team Rebekah and Cheryl Stuebing. The two decided to design and manufacture boiled wool dog toys after a trip to Nepal, where they were introduced to the felting process. Completely handcrafted by artisans of Nepal, a portion of the profits goes toward helping the women provide for their families in need. And pets love them!
A couple reminders for things going on around town… Don’t forget to get your passport (ticket) at WEEKENDS for the Renaissance Roam taking place in downtown Port Huron on May 17th 4-9 PM. This event is a fund raiser in support of Studio 1219. Suggested donation price is $10. The Lexington Arts Council is a proud sponsor of this event and participating as well. We hope you join us!
**Editor’s note: Sorry mom for the confusion, Mother’s Day is the 11th and not the 12th this year! Didn’t want you to think we were going to forget by a day!
